In order to provide more support to children who have various problems and cannot fit into the existing school system, they encourage the service users to attend Smile Factory and receive educational counselling, as well as to promote social independence of the service users (students) through the guidance at Smile Factory. The Smile Factory is a free school that accepts students of all ages, from elementary school to high school (only elementary school to junior high school for this SIB project). Toy Box operates Smile Factory and provides educational counselling to children and their parents with various special needs such as withdrawal, LD (learning disabilities), ADHD (attention deficit disorder), and developmental disabilities. In general, free schools offer group classes, but Smile Factory also offers individual classes for children who are not comfortable in group classes.

We have a system for processing information and try to attribute data to named sources, but we do not audit, cross-check, or verify all information provided to us. It takes time and resources to share data, which may not have been included in a project’s budget. Many of the projects are ongoing and timely updates may not be available. Different people may have different interpretations of data items and definitions.
