Jenifer is Programme Director at Public Health England. Prior to pursuing her interests in evidence based healthcare, she worked in clinical medicine. For approximately 10 years she was Director of the Cancer Intelligence Service and Quality Assurance Director for Breast Screening across the South West of England. She then moved to the Commission for Health Improvement where she was responsible for commissioning the National Clinical Audit Programme, and providing clinical advice on the measurement of quality in healthcare services.
She has also held various senior posts in public health medicine, including Director of Public Health and Chief Medical Adviser for the Isle of Wight, where she worked with colleagues from the LSE to develop multi-criteria decision analysis. This was a tool to support commissioners of healthcare in prioritising resource utilisation.
Her current role encompasses leading the Public Health England support to the NHS in diabetes prevention, treatment and care and determining commissioning policy for specialised healthcare services.
Publications cover cancer epidemiology, outcome from colorectal cancer treatment and multi-criteria decision analysis in healthcare.
